Don't Be Shy!
I'm currently a Printmaking major at Tyler School of Art, Temple University, living in Philadelphia. I'm on track to graduate in May 2009, and from there I plan to take on a new city, join a communal print shop, create and hopefully sell artwork. My goal is to one day run my own print shop so other aspiring printmakers have access to the facilities they need.
My most recent influences include Anselm Kiefer, Pat Steir, Scandinavian landscapes, German Expressionist woodcuts, Sigur Ros, Joseph Cornell, Dave McKean, Haruki Murakami, Trenton Doyle Hancock, and the anticipation of spring.

As for HandmadeinPhilly...this is a google group and it's kind of a spin off from the Philly Etsy Team. http://groups.google.com/group/handmadephilly?hl=en
I hope that link helps...if you still have a hard time finding it/joining, let me know. They also use the Mew Gallery for shows, have regular meetings on the third friday of the month at the Mew and also organize other joint art/craft projects and shows. It's a good way to market yourself and be a part of other activities in Philly (even though you might be moving this summer?)
